Mokapu and Ulua Beaches

I have just published an Open Source Photo Guide to the Mokapu/Ulua pair of beaches in Maui's south-west region of Wailea. These beaches are ideal for early morning photographs of palm tree shadows stretching across the sand.

Ma'alaea Beach, Maui

We have our first photo guide for Maui, HI. Ma'alaea Beach is one of the best walking beaches in Hawaii. Over three miles long, narrow, crescent-shaped, and not crowded.

Old Kona Aiport Beach

I've published a new photo guide to Old Kona Airport Beach. This is another gem if you want to avoid the crowds of Maui's more "glamorous" beaches.

This is the real site of the former airport. You enter and park on the former runway. On weekdays, the beach should be truly un-crowded. It's ideal of people who appreciate local history, as well as Hawaii's more natural landscape.

Hawaii Free Photo Guide page back on-line

The top-level map for the Hawaii Free Photo Guides is back on-line with the correct high-level map of the state of Hawaii. Since so many photographers visit Hawaii with guidebooks and email suggestions in hand, I expect that this page will grow quite quickly.

The First Hawaii Photo Guide: Ai'opio Beach

Our first Hawaii photo guide, Ai'opio Beach, is now available. Ai'opio Beach is a great little beach with historic artifacts on the big island of Hawaii. It's easy to get to from Kona, and is rarely crowded.

I look forward to getting the Hawaiian photo guide page up and rolling. I will be the temporary administrator for this page. If anyone else would like to take over the Hawaiian page in the future, please contact me.
